The "Seven Benedictions of Nissu'in"

As with all Hebrew ceremonies, these seven b'rachot are sung over a cup of wine (which the bride and her husband share after the seven b'rachot have been completed):

' .

1. You are blessed, Adonai, our God, Sovereign of the Universe, Creator of the vine's fruit!

' .

2. You are blessed, Adonai, our God, Sovereign of the Universe, who created everything for His own glory!

' .

3. You are blessed, Adonai, our God, Sovereign of the Universe, Maker of Mankind!

' , ; , ' .

4. You are blessed, Adonai, our God, Sovereign of the Universe, who made Mankind with its own unique form, a form with an appearance of His own designing; and prepared for him, out of himself, a life-long companion---You are blessed, Adonai, Maker of Mankind!

, , ' .

5. The childless one (i.e. Y'rushalayim) will rejoice and be happy when her children are again joyfully gathered together into her bosom---You are blessed, Adonai, who will make Tziyyon rejoice over her children!

, , ' .

6. May You make these beloved companions rejoice, just as You made Your creation rejoice in Gan Éden in ancient times---You are blessed, Adonai, who brings joy to a bride-groom and a bride!

' , ; , , , , , , , . ' , , , , , ' !

7. You are blessed, Adonai, our God, Sovereign of the Universe, who created joy and rejoicing, bride-groom and bride, merriment and music, dancing and happiness, love and brotherhood, peace and companionship. Soon, Adonai, our God, may the sound of joy and the sound of rejoicing be heard throughout the cities of Y'hudah and the streets of Y'rushalayim---the voice of the bride-groom and the voice of his bride; the sound of the joyful shouts of bridegrooms ringing out from their huppahs, and the music from children's parties---You are blessed, Adonai, who brings joy to the bride-groom with his bride!
